CQ-Roll Call seeks Defense and Foreign Policy Editor

MRE_150CQ-Roll Call is seeking an experienced news editor to manage coverage of defense, homeland security, intelligence and foreign policy for CQ-Roll Call’s print and online publications.

This editor supervises a team of four reporters responsible for coverage of breaking news and production of in-depth stories on defense authorization and appropriations legislation, debates and fights over weapons system funding, troop levels, oversight of the Pentagon and lobbying by the defense industry. The team also produces news on foreign policy, intelligence policy and spending, homeland security issues and veterans’ affairs. The editor will have a passion for policy and an understanding of Congress, a drive to move quickly on breaking news, and an ability to edit stories of all forms including breaking news, policy explainers and narrative magazine pieces. We are looking for someone with experience managing a team of reporters, the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and an energetic and collaborative spirit. Reports to the deputy executive editor for CQ News.
