I came back to the office this week and, as always, the first question most people had was a variation of the one TV reporters so often ask, the one that causes me to sneer.

Well, a bit strange, I told them. It would have been easier to say, “Great! It’s wonderful to be home,” but if you know me, you know I’m not cut that way. And if you know a lot of soldiers who’ve gone to war, as I do, you also will know that they’ve experienced the same thing.
Still, no need to worry. Situation normal, as those guys will tell you.
