Back in December, you had us send a letter weighing in on suggestions in the news that alleged Fort Hood shooter Major Hassan would have his military hearings closed to the public.
We never received a response — until today. See the 
. The letter reports “the pretrial investigation of the charges against Major Hasan will be open to the public.” The letter instructs everyone to direct document requests to the JAG officer at Fort Hood.
The last report I saw said that proceedings in the case will start on Oct. 4. That no doubt prompted the Army to send this letter now.
